Updating competence
Industrial Engineering and Management provides different opportunities for updating competences also alongside work. These Master’s degree programmes that can be completed alongside work are aimed at groups such as engineers who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences. Continuing training and open university education
LUT University also organises continuing training for the needs of companies. Both personal and company-specific training modules can be planned as needed in these training programmes. Open executive and specialist programmes, short-term modules and company-specific training are available.

Open university provides open education for all. There are no requirements for prior education and no age limits for the study units. Our open university provides an extensive range of courses that are mainly integrated in the basic education of degree programmes in accordance with the university’s schedule.

Could you be a Doctor in Industrial Engineering and Management?
Industrial Engineering and Management also provides opportunities to continue your studies in doctoral education. The doctoral degree (D.Sc. (Tech.), Ph.D.) consists of doctoral studies (40 credits) and a doctoral dissertation which involves writing between 4 and 5 publications in scientific journals, and preparing a thesis, i.e. a doctoral dissertation, and subsequently defending it in public. It is also possible to complete a doctoral degree alongside work, and a personal research plan is prepared for this purpose for each doctoral student.
